Assessing your purchasing function

Our Diagnostic Assessment framework is built from 25 key areas of your organization. We use a mixture of assessment, interview, evidence and discussion to develop a clear picture of your current position and to identify strengths and weaknesses.

The input is taken from across the purchasing organization and also reaches into the senior management of the business. From this, we can work with you to build a prioritized development roadmap that shows how you will develop your organization over the next three years.

The Diagnostic Assessment examines 25 key areas that represent best practice purchasing. For each, we examine the current situation against a range of criteria and determine where you are against ‘world class’.

Depending on what you want to achieve, we can carry out the assessment in a number of ways – either conducting a survey amongst your key staff with follow-up interviews, or conducting a full on-site diagnostic, combining analysis with interviews and assessment of current arrangements.

The Diagnostic Assessment tool is built around a similar framework to our individual competency assessments. In each of the 25 areas we assess, there is a clear statement of what is expected in each area, and a definition of each of the five levels of achievement.
