Our Supplier Relationship Management courses are designed to help practitioners develop the capability and toolset for all aspects of supplier qualification, segmentation, management, measurement and improvement. Based around the Positive Purchasing SRM process we take practitioners through a series of workshop based sessions that explore Supplier Relationship Management in its entirety.

Our SRM Training is perfect for any practitioner who is involved in managing or interfacing with a supplier; where there is a need to drive increased value from the supply chain or where the relationship and area of supply is so critical that robust risk mitigation approaches are required. We can also provide a version of this course with specific emphasis on mergers and acquisitions and understanding key supplier relationships as part of the due diligence process.

Our SRM training typically builds upon, and naturally follows on from pre-existing training such as Category Management or Strategic Purchasing but can also be delivered to practitioners with no prior training in this area. The training is designed to be inspirational and combines classroom tuition with facilitated debate, groupwork, video and case studies.

The SRM needs of each organisation are often different and dependent upon the degree and nature of provision that already exists in this area within the organisation. For example many organisations have good supplier performance measurement systems in place but lack strategic relationship management. We can therefore review the current arrangements and tailor the SRM process and training specifically for your organiation, building content around any existing established systems that might exist. Alternatively you can choose from one of our standard SRM courses.

We offer the following standard courses, all customisable and tailored to your organisation alternatively we can create an SRM course specifically for you.

Supplier Relationship Management 1 day awareness

This one day course is primarily designed for stakeholders or those who come into contact with suppliers. The course explores the basics of SRM and is designed to equip delegates with a better understanding of the buyer/seller relationship and specifically things that can be done to improve the buyer's overall position. This is an ideal course for individuals with no prior knowledge of purchasing.

Supplier Relationship Management 2 day intermediate

This two day course is designed primarily for purchasing practitioners but equally suitable for stakeholders. The course takes delegates through the SRM process and explores the key tools, techniques and approaches that are used. The course uses a series of case studies and groupwork to bring key conecpts to life. The course not only explores buyer/seller dynamics but also helps provide the approaches required to structure, manage, measure and maintain better relationships with the critical few suppliers.

Supplier Relationship Management 3 day advanced

This advanced level course aimed at experienced purchasing practitioners takes delegates through the SRM process with a detailed exploration of the tools, techniques and approaces used. The course uses a series of case studies to bring key concepts to life but also utilises groupwork sessions for delegates to work on real examples from their organisation applying learning as they go. This advanced level course typically assumes some prior knowledge from practitioners or to be a natural follow on from a Category Management training course. However we can also adapt the course for delegates with no prior training. This course explores segmentation of suppliers, qualification and the buyer/seller dynamics in detail. Supplier performance measurement and management is also covered together with approaches to drive improvements that add value and minimise risk, focusing on the management of and relationship with the critical few suppliers.
